  Langton Dock Line

The Langton Branch was built in 1885 by the Midland Railway. This branch went from the Cheshire Lines Committee's North Liverpool Extension Line at Fazakerley Junction to Langton Goods station, with a spur to North Mersey Goods. A second short spur to the Linacre Gas Works Branch which was added later ran from the Langton Branch Junction.

It was taken out of service 26 April 1968 and the lines were removed by August 1969. The spur from Langton Goods to North Mersey Goods was used until July 1970.

After the line closed 3 of the 5 bridges where removed, also the tunnel running under the canal was filled in at one end but access is still available from one end, much of the branch was in cutting which most have been filled in to ground level or are very overgrown with trees.

This line was never used by passenger services so had no passenger stations, but was used by workers. This branch will never reopen.
